Membership conditions
Membership
All memberships entail equal rights being granted to club members and their guests. Membership entitles members and their guests to use all club services at no extra charge. Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Deutsche Bank AG can recommend individuals for membership of the Airport Club Frankfurt, existing members can suggest new members, or applications for membership may be made directly to the club management. Membership is for individual persons, not corporations, and is subject to the management’s discretion.
Annual fee
The membership fee is for 12 months starting at the beginning of the calendar year and is payable in advance in January. A pro rata membership fee shall be levied in the year of membership admission.
Membership fees (each subject to statutory VAT)
Admission fee €500
Annual user fee €1,300
The Airport Club Frankfurt is entitled to change the admission fee and the annual user fee on 1 January of any given year, provided it has given members notification hereof six months prior to the end of the previous year. Any such change shall be deemed valid if published in the members’ magazine Airport Club in accordance with the aforementioned period of notice.
Access/invoicing
Access to the club shall only be granted to club members and their personal guests if accompanied by said member. Access shall only be granted if a club card is presented. The club card is non-transferable. The club card is used to invoice all the club services used, including those used by the club member’s personal guests. If the invoice recipient is a company, both the company and the club member shall be liable as co-debtors. Members shall be invoiced for the services used in any given month and payments shall be collected at the end of the month in question. The club member shall be sent a detailed statement including VAT, service charges and the date upon which the monies shall be collected. All payments due shall be collected by direct debit. Direct payment at the club shall only be granted to club members without a bank account in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Reservations
We recommend that you book offices, function rooms and dining rooms in good time. Club members shall be charged a flat-rate fee for the use of each office, function room or dining room. A club member must pay these fees if a reservation is cancelled less than 48 hours before the time of use booked. This cancellation policy shall also apply to bookings for technical equipment. Reservations can only be considered such that they do not impinge on the valid usage requirements of other club members. Please contact us in advance to arrange any secretarial services you may need. These services shall be invoiced on the basis of the actual services rendered.
Liability
The club accepts liability in relation to its services rendered on the basis of gross negligence only. It does not accept liability for damages caused by interruptions to its business operations as a result of force majeure, upheaval, war or natural phenomena, or resulting from any other events outside of its scope of responsibility (e.g. strikes, lockouts, traffic disruptions) or attributable to acts of government either domestically or abroad.
Storage of personal information
All details pertaining to the club member (personal information) which are stored in machine-readable form shall be handled in confidence in accordance with Germany’s Federal Data Protection Act.
Notification
Club members are requested to inform the Airport Club Frankfurt in writing of any changes pertinent to their membership, in particular changes of address or bank details.
Dormant membership
A club member may request that their membership be made “dormant” from 1 January of any given year by submitting an application to this effect by 31 October of the preceding year. A “dormant membership” costs €330 per annum (plus statutory VAT). The Airport Club facilities may not be used for as long as a person’s membership is dormant. If full membership is reactivated, the admission fee shall not be charged. If full membership is reactivated in the same year as the membership is made dormant, the pro rata annual fee/dormancy fee shall apply. There are no restrictions in terms of the duration of a “dormant membership”.
Transfer
Members are enabled to transfer the membership to another person; therefor a fee of € 150,- applies.
Termination
A club member may terminate their membership in writing by 31 October of any given year for the termination to be effective after 31 December of that same year.
